Vietnam has been great recently! Ministry working with the International Church has been good. We have continued to not really have a set schedule here. We help out at the church on Sundays, do English clubs Mondays and Saturdays, youth group on Wednesdays, and Young Adults on Fridays. In addition to all that we have done A LOT of baking at our hosts house. We baked for English clubs and the church.
Christmas in Vietnam!
Over the past couple of weeks, ministry has been very Christmas related, obviously. We have done so many white elephants for English clubs and Young adults. We also did a Christmas event for youth a few Wednesdays ago. We got to play games and do a gingerbread house decorating contest. It was so much fun. Young adults and youth groups ended for the year about two weeks ago. It hasn’t been very easy because we wont have another one of either to do before we leave the country. Our schedules have been open for these past few weeks, which I went into not liking, but during these last few weeks I have seen the team grow a lot. A lot in relationship with each other and with the Lord. It’s been such a blessing to see during this time.
Christmas Day was great. We went over to our host Sherman’s house for breakfast and lunch. We brought over cinnamon rolls and made eggs and bacon in the morning. It was a great time of eating and talking and hanging out. A few other people we have got to know where there aswell. For lunch, Sherman ordered a bunch of pizza. Gordon’s New York Pizza, and it was a great Christmas meal. We got to spend a few hours as a team after that. Our team went over to the local market called Han Market. It’s inside, and set up in a square. The first floor is all food and snacks and accessories. The the second floor has a big hole in the middle, overlooking the first floor, and its all clothes and more accessories. Almost every piece of clothing is a knock off of a different brand, but there are a lot of good items as well. For dinner we went over to another hosts house, Tim and Janet. We played a lot of board games and card games and we did a candle light service at their house. Christmas in Vietnam was great. It was amazing to focus on the people here and hang out as much as we could.
New Years!
It is a new year! 4 months ago, 2026 felt so far in the future, but now we are here. It is wild that I have been traveling for the Lord for 4 months already. New Year’s Eve was good. A few of the guys and the girls in Da Nang signed up for the Da Nang New Year’s Eve 5k run. I had never ran a 5k before, and I also didn’t really practice for this one. The race started at 10pm on December 31st, and was a 5 Kilometer loop around the dragon bridge and another bridge next to it. I ran it in 27 minutes, which I think is pretty good. After the race we got medals and tried to make it to the beach before the fireworks went off. We did not. My car and the other car of people both celebrated new years in the car. It was still fun. We were able to see fireworks in the street which was cool. The city was so so busy at this time, about 12:30 am. 2025 was a great year with great people!
I am so happy to say that I am now 77% fundraised! Praise God! I came into Vietnam at 55% so the Lord had moved! My 100% deadline is in February and I know we can do it. We have $4,345 left until 100%. I am so grateful as the lord has been providing. Thank you to all who have supported, and thank you to those who do!
