After six weeks of serving in Medellin Colombia, we had a week of rest and debrief in Guatape, and it was amazing. The Lord showed up to me a lot during that week. Saying goodbye to all the people at the foundation was hard for most of us. We made very good relationships with people there. Our debrief location was on a waterfront hotel and it was a very pretty spot. Debrief is a time to reflect on the ministry done and how we felt during and after ministry. We didn’t have busy schedules during this week, so we were given a lot of time to rest and spend intentional time with each other, which was great because the whole squad was splitting up for Vietnam. Throughout the week, I was able to get up every morning and watch the sunrise on the dock and spend time with the Lord, as well as having great conversations with some people who also decided to get up at 5 am. The hotel had coffee at the front desk that I would get every morning.

Something the Lord showed me is how important it is to seek out genuine time with people. As the squad split drew closer and closer I began to realize how many people I wished I got to know more. I was able to spend some great time with a lot of people. Some popular activities throughout the week included playing pool, ping pong, rook, swimming, late night cooking, or just laying in some hammocks. One of the days our coaches took us out on a big boat and we all got to spend a few hours out on the water and swim. Almost every day we had teaching by some of our squad leaders and mentors.

One of the most memorable nights was our Friendsgiving. During the day all the teams took turns cooking for a big thanksgiving dinner that was to happen at night. We had wings and deviled eggs and empanadas and more. For the dinner we all dressed nice, and hung out in the courtyard to take photos. It was a fantastic night of laughs and memories for all of us.

Something else we did was squad worship every morning, and this was a blessing for all of us for a few reasons. It had been awhile since we did squad worship, and it was the last chance to worship as a whole group for six months. The entire week really was a blessing for all of us to be able to seek each other out like we may not of during our time in Medallin.

Once again thank you for reading and thank you to my supporters. Thank you for prayers for financial support as I make disciples of all nations. I have started an adopt the box fundraiser to help with support. $20 is box 20, $50 is box 50, and so on. You guys can help me spread the gospel by claiming a box, which you can do through my Venmo, @everboncoeur. Thank you guys!
